Review of the Lamy Safari

I recently took my first step into the world of fountain pens by purchasing a Lamy Safari. It was in the black colour, and it had a medium size nib. It didn't take long before I had also bought the same pen with fine and extra fine nibs! I was simply hooked, and I wanted to try out the different nib options.

The Lamy Safari is an iconic pen which is often recommended to people who are getting started with fountain pens. It is made of sturdy plastic with different colour options, and it comes with a steel in broad, medium, fine, or extra fine. It is, however, quite easy to remove the nib and exchange it for another Lamy nib, which gives you even more options, such as italic nibs. The pen comes with one Lamy ink cartridge with blue ink, but it is also possible to use the pen with a converter, in which case you can use it with any ink you could possibly want.

The pen has a quite simple appearance. In my opinion, it looks more like a marker pen than a fountain pen, especially when the cap is on. But of course, you can't get something that looks like a luxury pen at this price point. And some people may prefer the very simple look of the Lamy Safari. The clip on the cap is fairly large, and there is a window in the barrel that allows you to see the converter or cartridge inside.

Overall, this is a solid fountain pen for beginners!
